Privacy Policy

Ever since Steve Sanders’ freshman buddy hacked into the West Beverly grade bank, we’ve known that computers are capable of some pretty shady stuff. So in an effort to fill you in as honestly as we can about our intentions, please take a look at Just My Show’s privacy policy below.

Data Collection

You’re here on the site and we’re excited to have you! Of, course, we wouldn’t mind having a few million more of you either. So in an effort to see how we’re doing and to possibly provide statistics to potential advertisers, this site uses Google Analytics.

Google Analytics collects information from visitors of this site in order to provide us with a variety of information. In doing so, Google Analytics uses cookies and collects the IP addresses of Just My Show visitors. We do not, however, collect personally identifiable information about our visitors. If you’d like to avoid being part of Google Analytics’ data collection while on this site, you may do so by using Google’s Opt-Out Browser. For more, please refer to Google’s Privacy Center.

E-Mail Policy

As Newman once said, “When you control the mail, you control information.” Well we at JMS take that information seriously.

When you send an e-mail to JMS, your information is used for one very important purpose…to write back! Rest assured, we will never sell your information to outside parties.

JMS maintains an e-mail list for informing listeners about site related news. If you want in, great. If you don’t, no problem. If for any reason, you are receiving e-mails that you don’t want, just let us know.

Advertising

JMS podcasts about pop culture for the same reason Jesse and the Rippers rock out, Norm Peterson pounds beer and Russell Huxtable plays pinochle…because we’re passionate about it. That said, there’s nothing wrong with channeling a little Alex P. Keaton too, is there? In that spirt of entreprenuership, we do include some advertising on this site and so there are a few things you should know.

Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website.

Google’s use of the DART cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the advertising opt-out page. (Alternatively, you can direct users to opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.)

Podcasting Services , Directories and Listener Statistics

WKRP had 5,000 watts of power to get its sounds out to the people of Cincinnati. But since this is a podcast, Just My Show uses Hipcast to host and feed our episodes as well as to provide the media players on this site. Hipcast also provides Just My Show with non personally identifying information about the number of people who listen to each podcast. Please contact Hipcast for more information on data collection and other practices involved in providing these services to Just My Show and its listeners.

To further understand our listenership, Just My Show also uses Podtrac, which provides us with non personally identifying listener information collected through our podcast’s feed. Please refer to Podtrac for more information reguarding the collection of this information.

In addition to the previously mentioned media players on this site, the Just My Show podcast is also available for listening and download through a variety of podcast directories via a feed from Hipcast. These directories include but are not limited to iTunes, Podcast Alley, Zune and iPodder. Please refer to all such sites for their respective privacy policies.

JMS Merchandise

“What are you looking at dick nose?” “Win, Rocky, Win!” “Vote for Pedro.” Many a classic t shirt has come out of the world of pop culture. So why shouldn’t your favorite pop culture podcast have a t shirt of its own?

We welcome and appreciate your purchase of JMS gear. To be on the up and up though, we want to make sure you realize that such purchases are currently made through Spreadshirt.com, which maintains its own privacy policy.

Just Ask

If you have a question about Just My Show’s privacy policy or are concerned about something you see on this site, just let us know. We’re pop culture geeks, but not computer geeks. When it comes to cookies (the computer kind at least), we’re about as clueless as Chrissy Snow. We’re as sincere as Skippy Handleman though, so just tell us and we’ll take care of it.  comments@justmyshow.com
